Description

British field marshal, who was one of the leading Allied commanders of WWII. Lot of two ALSs, both signed “Montgomery of Alamein.” First is a one page, both sides, on War Office letterhead, dated May 16, 1948. Letter is to an associate and reads in part, “I understand a man is wanted to fill the post of Administrative Officer for a broadcasting station in Cypress and to act as Deputy for the Director in the latter’s absence. I would like to suggest that my brother would be a good man for the job.” Second letter is one page in length and dated November 8, 1950, sending his thanks for some sent notes. In fine condition, with expected folds and mounting remnants to reverse of first letter, not affecting signature. R&R COA.
