Unissued ship's pass allowing it 'to pass with her Company Passengers, Goods and Merchandise without any hinderence, seizure or molestation.' Signed by Jefferson as president and by Madison as Secretary of State. Archivally double suede matted and framed with color portraits of Jefferson and Madison, to an overall size of 40.5 x 19.5. In very good condition, with Jefferson's signature light but legible, scattered toning and soiling, mild wrinkling, worn but intact seal and binding remnants to left edge from collector's careful book storage, which could be matted out.
