Original artwork drawn by Elizabeth Moore for Sheila E.'s 29th birthday party, with the image measuring 6.5 x 3.5 on a 16 x 13 sheet, portraying two medieval musicians on a checkerboard floor; the embellishments in the corners and center are on a celluloid overlay. Signed and dated in the lower right by the artist. Matted to an overall size of 21 x 18. In fine condition, with some portions of staining to lower blank portion and a fold to lower right corner of celluloid. Accompanied by two copies of the corresponding invitation that used this artwork, which has details for the party on the reverse: "A Birthday for Sheila E., You & one guest are invited to the celebration at: 'Vertigo,' 1924 S. Grand, downtown L.A. at the corner of Olympic, Thursday December 11, 1986, 9:00 P.M., (please present this invitation at the door)." From the collection of Elizabeth Moore and accompanied by a letter of provenance. Moore worked for Prince on the Purple Rain Tour as his personal wardrobe assistant, as well as event designer and decorator; she also worked intimately with Prince designing and creating original artwork for his party invitations and personal holiday cards.
