Lovely vintage matte-finish 7.75 x 9.75 full-length photo of Helen Keller wearing a beautiful gown and standing with Polly Thomson, her longtime companion and interpreter, signed and inscribed in pencil, "To Mae Fitzsimmons, with every good wish from us both, Helen Keller, June 27th 1956," and in black ink, "Polly Thomson.” The reverse bears a “Studio of The New York Times” stamp. In fine condition, with some small corner creases, and poor contrast to Keller's handwriting. Mae Fitzsimmons was a principal dresser in the Saks Fifth Avenue NYC dress department who worked with and became friends with many celebrities and notable individuals.
