Your outstanding service as the lunar module pilot on Apollo 14, mankind's third lunar landing mission, demonstrated the essence of our Ambassador of Exploration Awards. It is most fitting that you receive this award on February 5th, recognizing that exactly 35 years ago today, Alan Shepard and yourself were stepping out on the Moon for your first of two exploration adventures in the Fra Mauro highlands.
