Russian geographer, zoologist, and political theorist (1842–1921) best known for his advocacy of anarchist communism. TLS signed “Yours sincerely, P. Kropotkin,” one page, 8 x 10.25, blindstamped 9 Chesam Street, Brighton letterhead, October 12, 1912. Letter to Mr. Cazenova, in part: "Thank you for the cheque…Permit me also to thank you very heartily for all the trouble you took with the book. I have not yet got through its Appendix to see whether all corrections and cuttings came out alright, but I think there are no mistakes. The book is very prettily brought out, and I only ask myself whether in the shilling edition it will have the circulation it had in the sixpenny one. As to The Memoirs of a Revolutionist, you wrote me on Sept. 26th that you would like to send a copy to Mr. Waugh. I send it now. Is Mr. Waugh the manager of Chapman and Hall? Did you not try Dent? As the book is rather bulky, the Every Man's Library perhaps would be the best, and it is possible that when they see two of my books appearing in shilling editions, they may be willing to take this one." In fine condition, with some light creasing to the lower right corner.
