Description

Partly-printed DS, signed “J. Tyler" as president and "J. C. Calhoun" as secretary of state, one page, 15.75 x 9.75, December 18, 1844. President Tyler appoints Simeon Bailey as "Deputy Postmaster at New Bedford, in the State of Massachusetts." Prominently signed at the conclusion in ink by John Tyler and countersigned by Secretary of State John C. Calhoun. The lower left retains the original white paper seal. In very good to fine condition, with irregular light toning.
