Postmarked "Free" at Washington, September 10, [1849]. In fine condition, with light soiling and splits to edges. Taylor received franking privileges upon his ascent to the presidency, and passed away before his term ended. Given his short tenure in the White House, presidential autographs by Taylor are especially scarce.
