Calligraphic quote attributed to artist Willem de Kooning and accomplished in an unknown hand, one page, 9 x 12, no date, signed at the conclusion in green ink by De Kooning. The quote, in part: “I am an eclectic painter by chance. I can open almost any book of reproductions and find a painting I could be influenced by. It is so satisfying to do something that has been done for 30,000 years the world over…I could be influenced by Rubens, but I would certainly not paint like Rubens.” In fine condition.
