Description

Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Connecticut (1726–1797) who commanded troops in the defense of New York during the American Revolution. ADS, signed “O. Wolcott,” one page, 7.25 x 12.75, March 19, 1789. Handwritten "List of Claims against the Estate [of] Ezra Plumb Deceased," recording amounts owed totaling £65.1.11 due to claimants including Jedidiah Strong, Ebenezer Plumb, Amos Galpin, Mary Stoddard, Samuel Sheldon, David Buel, Col. Timothy Skinner, James Stone, Richard Wallace, Nathaniel Smith, and others. Signed at the conclusion in ink at the Probate Office, Litchfield, "The above account of debts against the estate of Ezra Plumb, Allowed, O. Wolcott." In good to very good condition, with tape repairs to fold splits, paper loss to edges (repaired at lower left corner), and chipping to the edges impinging on the signature. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
