"The Risque in crossing and recrossing the Atlantic is not so great as in passing from Hamburgh to Paris under present circumstances"

American statesman (1752–1816) and signer of the Constitution from Pennsylvania who authored several sections of that document, including the well-known preamble. ALS signed “Gouv. Morris,” one page, 7.75 x 9.5, July 4, 1815. Handwritten letter to David Parish, in part: "I but faintly recollect the Deposit you mention. I have an Idea that those Papers with some of my own are in the same Envelope. The best Course, I believe, is to ask of your good father to send the whole directed for me to the Care of your friend Mr. Gracie at New York. The Risque in crossing and recrossing the Atlantic is not so great as in passing from Hamburgh to Paris under present circumstances." Archivally mounted, matted, and framed to an overall size of 14.5 x 16.5. In fine condition. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA./
