Description

Founding Father, merchant, and politician from Massachusetts (1738–1796) who served as a delegate to and president of the Continental Congress, and was one of the signers of the United States Constitution. ALS signed “Nath: Gorham,” one page, 7.5 x 12.5, October 17, 1771. Handwritten letter to Messrs. Reynolds & Coates, in part: "Pr. Capt. Lamson in the Schooner Wm. I sent you 50 pair shoes & one Hogshead Eng. Loaf Sugar (Invoice below) which please to sell to best advantage & place the nett proceeds to my credit." Addressed on the reverse in Gorham's hand. In fine condition, with small edge splits to folds and seal-related paper loss. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from JSA.
