FDC with a cachet honoring the Palomar Mountain Observatory in California, postmarked there on August 30, 1948, signed in black ink and felt tip by noted scientists Clyde W. Tombaugh, James W. Christy, and Glenn Seaborg, whose individual careers are inextricably linked to the dwarf planet Pluto: Tombaugh discovered Pluto, Christy discovered Charon, the largest moon of Pluto, and Seaborg named the newly created element plutonium after Pluto. In very fine condition.
