Son of President Abraham Lincoln (1843-1926) who served as secretary of war in the Garfield and Arthur administrations. LS signed “Robert T. Lincoln,” two pages on two adjoining sheets, 5 x 8, War Department letterhead, January 19, 1885. Letter to Darwin C. Pavey, editor of The Berkshire Eagle, in part: "It would give me pleasure to send you an autograph of my father, if it were possible for me to do so; but the many requests which have been made upon me have exhausted the supply which I once had." In fine condition, with light handling wear.
