Description

TLS as president, one page, 6.75 x 9, Executive Mansion letterhead, November 10, 1900. Letter to the Hon. C. N. Bliss, in part: "Please accept my cordial thanks for your message of congratulation. Mrs. McKinley and I were much pleased to have your kindly comment on the situation in your vicinity." President McKinley adds a handwritten postscript, signed "W. McK.," in full: "Come down & see us, bring Mrs. Bliss & Miss Bliss, we shall be honored if you will come & I will then have an opportunity to thank you for your great work." In very good to fine condition, with light toning and soiling over much of the letter. The incumbent President McKinley, with upstart running mate Theodore Roosevelt, had just been re-elected in the presidential election on November 6, 1900.
