Original engraved invitation by Tiffany & Co. for the historic 1883 opening ceremonies of the Brooklyn Bridge, 9 x 6.5, reading: “The Trustees of the New York and Brooklyn Bridge request the honor of the presence of Mr. J. B. Brahams, at the Opening Ceremonies, to take place on Thursday, May twenty-fourth, at two o’clock, P.M.” In very fine condition. The opening ceremonies included speeches, bands, cannon fire, and fireworks, with notable attendees including President Chester A. Arthur and future President Grover Cleveland, then governor of New York.
