American boxing promoter (1870-1929) who also founded the New York Rangers hockey team and built the third incarnation of Madison Square Garden. During the 1920s, Rickard was the leading promoter of the day and has been compared to P. T. Barnum and Don King. Vintage ink signature, "Tex Rickard,” on an off-white 3.25 x 2 card. In fine condition, with faint toning from prior display. Encapsulated in a PSA/DNA authentication holder.
