Description

German-born American theoretical physicist (1906–1972) who received the Nobel Prize for Physics for proposing the nuclear shell model of the atomic nucleus; she was the second woman to win a Nobel Prize in physics, the first being Marie Curie. Rare ink signature, “Maria Goeppert Mayer,” on an off-white 5 x 3 card. In fine condition, with light overall toning.
