(Walt Disney Studios, 2002) One of three original production color models produced for the limited edition Walt Disney sericel ‘Spirit of America,’ which depicts Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy in a patriotic march with the American flag, an image inspired by Archibald M. Willard’s iconic painting, The Spirit of ’76, which was originally titled Yankee Doodle. Total character image measures 5.75 x 7.5, with overall dimensions of 12.75 x 17.5. The cel is placed on a matching color lithograph identified in the lower right corner as “1225001-BG,” and the top cel is annotated in blue felt tip, “Color Model, Original.” In fine condition. A rare color model cel set-up for this patriotic Disney sericel, examples of which rarely leave the studio.
