Description

Impressive lot of six prints and posters honoring noted military aircraft and pilots, including:

Large limited edition color 40.75 x 20 print of a William S. Phillips painting entitled ‘Shore Birds at Point Lobos,’ numbered 708/1250, which shows the Blue Angels U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration team flying low over Cedar Point off the coast of California, signed in pencil by Phillips.

Color 23 x 14.5 print of a Harley Copic painting entitled ‘Pharewell Old Phriend,’ depicting two F-4E Phantoms in flight, signed in pencil by Copic.

Color 35 x 23 print of a Paul F. Wentzel painting entitled “Proud Memories,’ picturing five aircraft honoring the Michigan Air National Guard, signed in pencil by Wentzel, featuring five facsimile pilot signatures.

Color 21.5 x 18 print of a Mark Waki painting entitled ‘The Tip of the Spear,’ depicting two McDonnell Douglas F-4G Phantom II ‘Wild Weasels’ in flight, signed and inscribed in pencil, “To John, ‘Mr. F-4,’ Ken Cordier, ‘Phantom Phlyer,’ 179 ½ Mission S.E.A.”; Col. Kenneth W. Cordier (1937-2024) was a celebrated F-4 fighter pilot who was shot down over North Vietnam and spent more than six years as a prisoner of war.

Two color 23.25 x 18 posters of a painting by Ken W. Kotik honoring the 30th Anniversary of the McDonnell Douglas Phantom II, which shows various images of the fighter-bomber and a list of national flags that utilized the aircraft, with one signed in black ink by noted pilots Jeffrey S. Feinstein, John R. ‘Bob’ Pardo, and Richard Stephen Ritchie.

Three prints are framed and range in sizes from 25.75 x 22.25 to 51 x 31. In overall fine condition.
