Description

Oversized original semi-glossy 16 x 20 silver gelatin photograph of Paul McCartney drinking a bottle of Coca-Cola with cigarette in hand, taken during the filming of A Hard Day’s Night in 1964 and printed circa 1980 from the original negative. Reverse is stamped: “‘A Hard Day’s Night’ production photograph printed from the original negative in 1980 by Jim McCrary. I oversaw the design of the poster and visual materials for the 1981 theatrical re-release, and this photograph was printed during the design process. Jeff Ayeroff.” Signed below in pencil by legendary music business executive Jeff Ayeroff. In fine condition, with light surface 'dimpling' to McCartney's dark sweater, visible at an angle.

The photograph was almost certainly shot by the film’s unit photographer Bert Cann. This print was made circa 1980 by celebrated photographer Jim McCrary, whose photographs graced the covers of many famed albums including Carole King’s Tapestry, Joe Cocker’s Mad Dogs and Englishmen, and albums by Cat Stevens, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bobby 'Blue' Bland, and B. B. King.
