Description

Four stock and transfer certificates for various American banks and corporations dated between 1907 and 1972:

National Metropolitan Bank Stock Certificate
Stock certificate for ten shares in the National Metropolitan Bank, one page, 11 x 8, October 17, 1907, issued to E. Quincy Smith and signed in ink by the bank's president and cashier. Interestingly, "Citizens" was struck through in the header as the bank's name had changed. Handsomely cloth-matted and framed with an image and plaque to an overall size of 30 x 20.5. In fine condition.

Marshall Field III Document Signed
Partly-printed DS, one page, 8.5 x 6.75, September 28, 1943. Transfer document for a $10,000 certificate of the "State of New York Loan for Highway Improvement," signed in fountain pen by George Richardson and Marshall Field III. Impressively cloth-matted and framed with the certificate, a portrait, and plaque to an overall size of 33 x 27.75. In fine condition. Field was an investment banker, publisher, and business leader (1893–1956) who inherited the Marshall Field department store fortune and founded the Chicago Sun newspaper.

Maryland National Corporation Stock Certificate
Stock certificate for two shares in the Maryland National Corporation, one page, 11.5 x 7.5, May 1, 1969, featuring facsimile signatures of the company's president and secretary. Handsomely double-matted and framed to an overall size of 18.75 x 15. In fine condition.

Pamida Inc. Stock Certificate
Stock certificate for 350 shares in the department store chain Pamida, Inc., one page, 11.5 x 7.75, August 30, 1972, featuring facsimile signatures of the company's president and secretary. Handsomely double-matted and framed to an overall size of 18 x 14.5. In fine condition.
