ALS signed “Jim,” one page, 6 x 9.5, The Shoreham letterhead, July 11, 1946. Handwritten letter to “Swanie,” his literary agent H. N. Swanson, in full: “If you will run the enclosed ad in one of the papers, maybe the reporter, maybe copied of on a Western Union blank some nice yellow color, I will pay for it. But I leave it for your judgment.” In very good to fine condition, with paper loss to the upper right corner. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope hand-addressed by Cain, who incorporates his signature into the return address field: “J. M. Cain.”
