Description

Indigenous Mexican statesman (1806-1872) who served as the country's president from 1858 until his death. Document, signed by Juarez as president of Mexico, to Matias Romero, Minister of Finance and Public Credit, announcing the decisions of the Congress of the Union. In part, "The Executive Power will arrange for the…collection of direct taxes of the Federal District to determine that the basis of the total amount of salaries and expenses collected should be no more than 10% of the value of the products." In fine condition, with an authenticity label affixed next to Juarez's signature.
