Description

Clapton to his ex-wife, "Pattie Clapton," written from the road in Chile: "I am in South America, everybody’s got dodgy tummies or sick in one way or another"

ALS signed “El, x,” penned on the reverse of a color 6.75 x 4.75 postcard of Petrohue Waterfalls, postmarked from Chile in October 1990. Handwritten letter from Eric Clapton to his ex-wife, Pattie Boyd, to whom he calls “Nell,” in full: “Here I am in South America, everybody’s got dodgy tummies or sick in one way or another, but it’s a great place, very, very different, like a cross between Poland and Mexico – I hope you are well and happy, I get home in late October I hope I see you then.” In fine condition. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks and a signed certificate of authenticity from Pattie Boyd. An interesting update letter that dates to after the couple's divorce, with Clapton addressing his ex-wife as “Pattie Clapton.”
