Extremely rare program from Paul McCartney’s appearance at the Royal Variety Performance, which took place in front of Queen Elizebeth II and the Queen Mother at the Theatre Royal on Drury Lane in London, England, on November 24, 1986, 8.25 x 11.75, signed nicely on the front cover in blue felt tip, “Paul McCartney,” and in blue ballpoint by his wife, “Love, Linda,” who adds a heart to her name. Includes an original large-format ticket stub for the performance, issued for “Row J, Seat 29.” In fine condition. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks.
The event marked McCartney’s first appearance at the venue since the Beatles’ memorable debut performance on November 4, 1963, when John Lennon uttered the now famous words ‘For our last number I’d like to ask your help. The people in the cheaper seats clap your hands and the rest of you, if you’d just rattle your jewelry!’
