Chinese warlord and general (1884–1977) who loyally served Chiang Kai-shek and his Kuomintang government, especially during the Second Sino-Japanese War; his name is tied to the infamous 1926 Yangtze river confrontations between British merchants and Chinese warlords known as the 'Wanhsien incident.' Extremely rare, early vintage matte-finish 5.5 x 7.75 photo of Yang Sen in a suit and tie, affixed to its original 9.25 x 12.25 Zenith Studio (Hankow) mount, neatly signed and inscribed on the mount in ink Chinese, and stamped in red with Yang Sen's chop mark. In fine condition, with some trivial chipping to the mount edges, and light silvering to darker areas of the image.
