German mathematician and physicist (1882–1970) who won the 1954 Nobel Prize in Physics for his work in quantum mechanics. TLS signed “M. Born,” one page, 8.25 x 6, July 7, 1967. Letter to Mr. Riley, in full: “If you send me your copy of my little Relativity book I would be pleased to autograph it and add a few words about Einstein. Thank you for your most interesting lecture.” Born adds his initials, “M. B.,” to a handwritten postscript: “I shall be absent and can not be reached from July 15th till August 15th 1967.” Framed with an image of the 1927 Solvay Congress, which shows both Einstein and Born, to an overall size of 13 x 16. In fine condition.
