Addressed from "King's Lodge" in Weymouth, a boldly penned handwritten letter from King George III, in part: “The King received yesterday the Countess of Courtown’s letter of the supposed vacancy of…Windsor, which has been filled up near three weeks by the nomination of Mr. Long, brother to the Lord of the Treasury, which appointment Mr. Pitt most earnestly requested. His Majesty cannot but favourably receive any application for the advantage of any of the Countess of Courtown’s sons, and therefore will bear in His mind the contents of the letter He has received.” In fine condition.
