Scarce medium-size American flag carried into lunar orbit on Apollo 14, 11.75˝ x 7.5˝, signed and flight-certified in blue ballpoint, "Flown to the Moon aboard Apollo 14, Edgar Mitchell, Apollo 14 LMP." In fine condition, with a crease along the left edge. Accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity from Mitchell, who writes that this "flag of the State of Massachusetts was carried into lunar orbit in my personal preference kit (PPK) aboard Kittyhawk from January 31, 1971 to February 9, 1971 during the Apollo 14 mission." An uncommon and desirable mid-size flown flag, direct from the archives of an Apollo moonwalker who earned his doctorate in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Karlyn Mitchell, the daughter of Edgar Mitchell.
