Flown gold-plated Gemini 8 Fliteline medallion, 1″ in diameter, featuring a raised design of the mission insignia on the face, and the reverse reading, "First to Dock in Space," with the mission date, “16 March, 1966." Condition is mint state, with noticeable fading to the gilt plating, and a couple areas of slight tarnishing.
RR Auction confirms that this flown Gemini 8 Fliteline medallion was professionally tested by a Thermo Scientific Niton machine, which detected the presence of gilt plating.
