World War II-dated leather-bound autograph book, 4.5˝ x 2.25˝, signed inside in crisp black ink, “Winston S. Churchill.” The balance of the book also contains over 50 signatures of British notables, including several members of Churchill’s war ministry, including Clement Attlee, Herbert Morrison, John Anderson, Brendan Bracken, Stafford Cripps, Frederick Lindemann, Oliver Stanley, Max Aitken, Archibald Sinclair, John Simon, Philip Cunliffe-Lister, Frederick Leathers, Robert Gascoyne-Cecil, and many others. Of note is the autograph of Sir Alfred Edward Webb-Johnson, president of the Royal College of Surgeons, who adds “VE Day” below his signature; Victory in Europe Day marked the Allied forces' formal acceptance of Germany's unconditional surrender of its armed forces on Tuesday, May 8, 1945.
