Scottish author and dramatist (1860-1937) best known for the classic children's play Peter Pan. ALS signed “J. M. Barrie,” one page, 4.5 x 7, personal letterhead, January 5, 1901. Handwritten letter to a gentleman, in full: "In answer to your letter I shall be pleased to see you here on Wednesday next at one o'clock. I should say at once, however, that the arrangements I have make it out of the question for me to undertake due to further work for anyone for years to come." In very good to fine condition, with partial splitting to the horizontal fold.
