Description

Section of cargo netting attested to as flown on the Apollo 13 Lunar Module Aquarius, measuring .75˝ x .75˝, affixed to a double-sided certificate reading: "The below flown cut-netting came from inside the crew compartment of Apollo 13's Lunar Module #7 (LM-7) ascent stage during NASA's third Apollo lunar landing mission attempt in April 1970. The cargo-retainer material was removed from the inner walls of LM-7's stowage compartment areas by LMP-astronaut Fred Haise…The 7˝ x 6˝-long white fire-proof fabric along with another section were cut into 100 pieces for use on this flown LM-7 artifact presentation. The netting had been owned and attested to as flown by Richard Garner, Director of The Space Collective of Liverpool, UK, having purchased a large section of the removed and saved netting by Bill Looney, a Grumman/Apollo LM spacecraft test manager from 1966–72 while at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This section had been acquired by Ken Havekotte of SpaceCoast Cover Service, Merritt Island, Florida, in 2022 by Mr. Garner." In fine condition.
