American painter and writer of science fiction (1920–1994) celebrated for the artwork he created for science fiction books and magazines in the 1950s. Two original circa 1980s planetscape paintings accomplished by Morris Scott Dollens in colorful casein paints on 10 x 8 masonite boards, both signed in the lower right in red paint, "Morris Scott Dollens," and titled and signed on the reverse in black felt tip. The first is entitled "Cave on World Near Binary Suns" (1983), showing jagged stalactites and rounded stalagmites within a cave that covers a reflective lagoon, with two suns in the distance. The second is entitled "World Near a Red Dwarf Sun" (1984), and shows hilly lunar landscape with a large 'red dwarf' sun against a starry night sky. In overall fine condition.
