Replica of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, measuring 2.25˝ in diameter and suspended from a partial 14˝-long blue ribbon, signed on the ribbon in silver ink by the Apollo 13 LMP, "Fred Haise, MOF 4-18-70." The ribbon is taped at either end to a white board, and displayed with a glossy photo of the Apollo 13 crew receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Richard Nixon in 1970. In fine condition.
During the Apollo 13 Medal of Freedom ceremony, held on April 18, 1970—one day after the crew's safe return—President Nixon said: 'Never before in the history of man have more people watched together, prayed together, and rejoiced together at your safe return, than on this occasion.'
