Description

Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 14.75 x 9, February 23, 1821. President Monroe appoints John Ferguson as "Naval Officer for the Port of New York in the State of New York." Boldly signed at the conclusion by President James Monroe, and countersigned by Secretary of the Treasury William H. Crawford. The white paper seal affixed at the lower left remains intact. Handsomely suede-matted and framed with a portrait and plaque to an overall size of 22 x 24. In fine condition.
