Apollo 12 moonwalker Alan Bean’s honorary ‘Grand Marshal’ red ribbon that he wore when he and fellow Apollo 12 astronauts Charles Conrad and Richard Gordon served as the grand marshals for the Rose Parade, which was held by the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association on January 1, 1970. The ribbon, 2.5˝ x 10.25˝, features gold text to the upper button and the lower body: “Grand Marshal, Alan Bean, 81st Year, ‘Holidays Around the World,’ Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association, January 1, 1970.” The ribbon is handsomely framed to an overall size of 6.5˝ x 14.25˝. Included is a vintage color 13.25 x 10 photo of Bean wearing the ribbon while riding in his white “Captain Bean” Grand Marshal limousine during the 1970 Rose Parade, which is matted and framed to an overall size of 22.5˝ x 20.5˝.
