Description

Collection of 12 official color red-numbered NASA photographs for the Apollo 13 mission, glossy and semi-glossy, 8 x 10 and 10 x 8, two of which are earlier variants with “A Kodak Paper” watermarks and purple NASA caption text on the reverse, and the remaining 10 are modern NASA ‘worm’ logo examples, with the reverse of each bearing variations of black and purple NASA caption text and “Kodak Professional” and “This Paper Manufactured by Kodak” watermarks. The earlier photos: (S-70-34850) Jack Swigert being fitted before launch and (S-70-35140) Ken Mattingly reading a flight plan in mission control. The modern photos: (AS13-62-8929) the essential ‘mailbox’ LiOH canister adapter; (70-24012) LMP Fred Haise suited up during lunar surface training; (70-35644) Apollo 13 splashdown; (STS13-60-8703) near full moon taken on the homebound journey of Apollo 13; (S70-20253) Lovell and Haise in Hawaii during a lunar traverse simulation; (S70-24010) James Lovell and Haise before water egress training; (S70-30534) the Lunar Landing Training Vehicle being piloted by Lovell at the Ellington Air Force Base; (S70-34851) Haise talking with a space suit technician; (S70-35631) the crew in rafts during South Pacific recovery operations; and (S70-35649) helicopter recovery after splashdown. In overall very fine condition.
