Description

"The Rogers Commission has put me so far behind in my own work, I don't expect to ever catch up"

TLS signed “Neil,” one page, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead, October 14, 1986. Letter to journalist Leonard David of the National Space Society, in full: “I misplaced your letter, and it just came to my attention, accounting for this unseemly delay. I am already committed on the 25th and will subsequently be out of the country; so I'll have to decline. You must be pretty deeply into the series, and I hope they are going well. I'm afraid the Rogers Commission has put me so far behind in my own work, I don't expect to ever catch up.” In very fine condition.

Leonard David is an award-winning journalist, writer, and editor who has covered the space industry since the 1960s for a number of publications. He also served on President Reagan's National Commission of Space chaired by Thomas Paine, charged with recommending a civilian space program that would advance the broader goals of American society over the next century.
