President George W. Bush’s personally-owned and -worn Mizuno VS-1 running sneakers, no size (12˝ in length), with the front of each tongue bearing embroidered gold lettering: “President, G. W. Bush.” The sneakers are presented inside a 28.5˝ x 6.75˝ x 18.5˝ Plexiglas display case with an engraved plate and a color photo of Bush wearing the offered footwear during a jog outside. In fine, well-used condition.
Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Samuel Sutton, the personal valet to President Bush, in full: “I, Samuel Sutton, worked in the White House as President George W. Bush's and President Barack Obama's valet. In these capacities, I was given certain souvenirs which I have retained until this day. Among these souvenirs is the item photographed below…President George W. Bush's sneakers. These special sneakers were owned and worn by President George W. Bush and presented to me by him during his Presidency.”
