Two interesting 19th-century hardcover books: A Manual of the Sea-Anemones Commonly Found on the English Coast by Rev. George Tugwell, published in London by John Van Voorst in 1856, containing several handsome color plates of sea anemones; and The Family Aquarium; or, Aqua Vivarium, A 'New Pleasure' for the Domestic Circle, by Henry D. Butler, published in New York by Dick & Fitzgerald in 1858, with hand-colored frontispiece engraving, offering instructions upon the subject of the construction, fitting-up, stocking, and maintenance of the fluvial and marine aquaria or 'river and ocean gardens.' In overall very good condition, with a cracked front hinge and losses to spine cloth of The Family Aquarium.
