Two items signed by astronaut Jim McDivitt: an early TLS, signed “James A. McDivitt, 8 x 10.5, NASA letterhead, November 4, 1962, letter to Betty MacPhail, in full: “I would like to thank you for your letter congratulating me on my selection as an astronaut. I was stationed at Dow A. F. B., Bangor, Maine in 1953 and 1954, and I have been to Kennebunkport many times. I’m afraid though, that it has been over seven years since I’ve been back. I guess things have changed quite a lot since then”; and an official color 8 x 10 NASA lithograph of McDivitt in his white space suit resting his hand on a moon globe, signed in green felt tip, “James A. McDivitt.” In overall fine condition. A notable letter from Jim McDivitt, who was selected as an astronaut by NASA roughly two months earlier in September 1962 as part of Astronaut Group 2, which included moonwalkers like Neil Armstrong, Charles Conrad, and John Young.
