Westinghouse agrees to provide The Scientific American with “drawings and particulars in regard to the battleship layout”

Engineer and businessman (1846-1914) best known for the invention of the air brake and for his energetic promotion of AC power distribution. TLS signed “Geo. Westinghouse,” one page, 8 x 10.25, personal letterhead, August 22, 1913. Letter to Captain G. E. Burd of the New York Navy Yard's Machinery Division, in full: “As I said to you to-day, I was very pleased to have your letter of August 18th and to know that Mr. Walker of The Scientific American would like to have drawings and particulars in regard to the battleship layout to which you refer. We will get the information prepared at the earliest possible moment and then get in touch with Mr. Walker. Thanking you for your courtesy in the matter.” In fine condition, with some light creasing.
