McClurg & Co., with the former agreeing to grant the latter the “exclusive right and license to publish, print and sell…a manuscript entitled TARZAN, LORD OF THE JUNGLE.” Signed at the conclusion by Burroughs and by McClurg President Joseph E. Bray. In fine, folded condition, with light edge wear. The novel Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle by Edgar Rice Burroughs is generally considered the eleventh title in his series of 24 books about the title character Tarzan. The story was first published as a serial in Blue Book Magazine from December 1927 through May 1928; it first appeared in book form in a hardcover edition from A. C. McClurg in September 1928.
