Carl Reiner's screen-worn beige Resistol cowboy hat from The Dick Van Dyke Show (Season 5, Episode 31, May 25, 1966) which casts Reiner as 'The Gunslinger,' who threatens Rob and Laura, the saloon girl, in an Old West dream sequence. Ten years later, Dick Van Dyke had his own variety show, which in spite of only lasting one year, won the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series. Carl guest starred as a detached head. The hat hangs on the wall, where Reiner asks for it. Van Dyke places it on his head causing Reiner to exclaim 'Don't I look like John Wayne!'
