1909 Clinedinst portrait of President Roosevelt, signed four days before leaving office

Handsome matte-finish 6.25 x 8.25 portrait of Roosevelt by Barnett M. Clinedinst, affixed to its original 7 x 10.5 mount, signed and inscribed on the mount in ink as president, "To James F. Kelly, with the regards of Theodore Roosevelt, Feb 27th 1909." In very good condition, with trimmed edges, a stain to the upper right corner, and a large crack passing across Roosevelt's chest. Roosevelt left the White House just one week later on March 4th.

Barnett McFee Clinedinst (1862–1953) was the official White House photographer for Presidents William McKinley, Theodore Roosevelt, and William H. Taft.
