Handwritten 1816 letter from the Duke of Wellington, dealing with territorial disputes in the wake of Napoleon's downfall

ALS in French, signed “Wellington,” three pages on two adjoining sheets, 7.25 x 9.5, September 15, 1816. Untranslated handwritten letter from the Duke of Wellington, concerning the difficulties linked to the occupation of territories formerly under the dominion of Napoleon, which had come under the control of the occupying troops of the Seventh Coalition. In fine condition, with an old, thin mounting strip along the left edge. A desirable letter from the British commander dating to a significant chapter of European history.
