Description

Three items related to Andrew Johnson and his historic 1868 impeachment trial:

Original green 4.75 x 3 full ticket to the U.S. Senate impeachment trial of President Andrew Johnson on April 9, 1868, complete with its unnumbered stub, marked "To be taken up at Main Entrance." The ticket is affixed to a slightly larger cardstock mount. The impeachment proceedings lasted from March 13 to May 26th, and President Johnson was ultimately acquitted by a single vote.

Rare 4 x 2.25 carte-de-visite photo of the seven impeachment managers for the impeachment trial of Andrew Johnson (Benjamin F. Butler, Thaddeus Stevens, Thomas Williams, John A. Bingham, James F. Wilson, George S. Boutwell, and John A. Logan), published by Brady’s National Photographic Portrait Galleries. Reverse bears period collector’s notations.
