Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Connecticut (1721–1793) who was the only man to also sign the Articles of Association, the Articles of Confederation, and the U.S. Constitution. Ink signature, "Roger Sherman,” on an off-white 2.25 x .5 slip affixed to the reverse of a handwritten document penned entirely by Sherman, who incorporates a second signature within the text, 8 x 12.75, no date, which reads, in part: “I, John Sherman of the city and county of New Haven in the state of Connecticut for the consideration of…four hundred and eighty two pounds…assigns a certain piece of land situate in the said city of New Haven containing about a quarter of an acre with a large mansion house thereon lately erected bounded easterly by land belonging to the President and Fellows of Yale College, Northerly by Chapel Street, Westerly by my wife’s land and Southerly by Roger Sherman’s land.” In fine condition, with a central vertical fold; the document is very good, with loss to the edges and splitting to its folds.
